Children's Book Report - Mix It Up!

I've been meaning to share this fun picture book for ages. We actually gave it to Madeleine for Christmas...in 2014! Better late than never though, so let's check out, Mix It Up! by Hervé Tullet.
This is a great little book that teaches kids all about color and what happens when you mix different colors together. The best part is that it is completely interactive, and really puts the child in charge of the story.
Kids are asked to smear, press, shake, and open-and-shut the book to mix up the colors. When they flip the page, they see what new color their actions made. It's so much fun!
The graphics are simple. If I'm not mistaken, they are photos of wet paint (versus drawn illustrations), and the texture just jumps off the page. They're messy, and real, and full of color. Kids will have so much fun interacting with Mix It Up!, that they won't even notice they'll be learning the entire time too. Definitely check this one out!
